Chappie James Squadron No. 578 of the CA Detachment of the Sons of The American Legion had a very successful toy drive and distribution this 2024 holiday season. 500 toys were received and donated to the Marines’ Toys for Tots program on Dec. 19. Another 300 toys were gathered with the help of Chili’s Inglewood and their patrons on Dec. 20.
The highlight of their efforts came on the 22nd of Dec. when Sons, Village Missionary Baptist Church and the Family Hands Foundation combined efforts to bring smiles to countless Watts community children with toys and gently used clothing donations.
